“The Architect’s former home where the use of colour, pattern and texture has seen his work featured in many magazines and publications, and though very effective in print, Weston does not view these elements as two-dimensional. Colour should be a part of a space’s architectural framework, rather than simply painted over the top. As a result, his projects integrate colour through custom-designed and custom-built joinery, furniture and artwork. This approach is exemplified within Weston’s Redfern terrace, where the kitchen’s uniquely patterned splashback was custom designed, and colour was introduced into the room through custom-built magenta cupboards and joinery. While the colour emphasis threads his various projects together, Weston likens his work to a bespoke suit in that everything produced for a client’s home is completely unique and designed for them and their space”
